Devera: “On Tuesday, officials released a statement saying they are considering temporarily relocating the bus stop and curbing the area…. ‘It’s making sure the bus stops are by signalized crosswalks as opposed to un-signalized crosswalks,’ said Senator Maile Shimabukuro. When it comes to the street lights, the state says it’s already replaced most of them on Farrington Highway. Replacement poles are still needed, before completing the remaining 7-mile stretch…. ‘They could put those at the top of the priority list so they could get it done,’ Shimabukuro added.”

NANAKULI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) – After two recent pedestrian fatalities in West Oahu last week, the community says a bus stop in Nanakuli poses a huge hazard and that it’s another accident waiting to happen.

“I catch the bus everyday,” said Nanakuli resident Keanu Chun. “I’m sitting here and one of these days a car can come by and that’s it.”  Continue reading
