“Dream Big: Nānākuli at the Fringe” showing

As part of being selected for the Public Television series, Pacific Heartbeat, there will be a free public screening of “Dream Big: Nānākuli at the Fringe” on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Doris Duke Theater, Honolulu Museum of Art. This event is sponsored by Pacific Islanders in Communications (PIC). The documentary follows the Nanakuli High and Intermediate School Performing Arts Center’s journey to London and Scotland and their performance at the 2011 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Time: 7:00pm – 9:00pm.
Doors Open @ 7:00pm, Screening begins @ 7:30, followed by a panel discussion about the importance of the Arts program will follow. Panelists will include:

Daniel Kelin, Director of Drama Education, Honolulu Theatre for Youth

UHWO Graduation Ceremony

UHWO Graduation Ceremony, Saturday, May 7th starting at 9am. Hawaiʻi State Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark Recktenwald will deliver the keynote address. UH West Oʻahu students Haylie Culp and Marousha Moore will be the student emcees. Hauʻula resident Tiffany Shelton, one of this year’s outstanding UH West O‘ahu graduates, will speak on behalf of the graduating class.

Note: Parking is always difficult, so please car pool if possible. Lei vendors will be on site, and seating is available from 8am on. Also, sunscreen is always recommended, as it’s held outdoors.
