Kulana Hawaii is a weight management program offered to Native Hawaiians for FREE. Those that do not have Native Hawaiian ancestry may also participate but may have to pay the “Co-pay” that you would pay if you were seeing your primary care-physician.

About the Program: Kūlana Hawai‘i uses evidence-based behavioral health interventions for obesity management. The program involves your patient’s participation in obesity management and lifestyle modification treatment interventions, including motivational interviewing, psychoeducation, physical activity, and stress management. It will consist of an individual assessment, three ninety-minute treatment sessions conducted by a licensed clinical psychologist. Following completion of treatment, your patient will have the opportunity to engage in 2 support groups per month for 10.5 months. Additionally, physical activity will be incorporated into each of the three intervention sessions and offered as part of the support group meetings.
Physical Activities will include:
Lomilomi, Yoga, Strength Training, Walking or Jogging on a Treadmill, Zumba, Aerobics, Stretching, Dancing
