The Kamehameha Schools K-12 campus application window for the 2016 – 2017 school year is quickly approaching. Here are some updates to be aware of this year.

  • Application window is August 15 – September 30, 2015
  • Applications will be available at www.ksbe.edu/admissions starting August 15, 2015. Be sure to download or request a mailed application at the start of the window in order to complete and submit it by the September 30, 2015 deadline.
  • New Kindergarten age requirements: For kindergarten, eligible applicants include boys and girls born between August 1, 2010 and July 31, 2011. This is in alignment with the DOE age requirement.
  • Online submission available: This year for the first time, applications will be accepted through online submission. Please note that online submission will close on September 23, 2015, a week prior to the deadline. In person or mailed applications will still be accepted until the deadline of September 30, 2015.

Updates are effective for all Kamehameha Schools campuses on Oʻahu, Maui and Hawaiʻi Island.

HDOT 2015: Weekend Lane Closures Aug 14-16

OAHU LANE CLOSURES FOR THE WEEKEND OF AUG. 14 – AUG. 16
PLEASE NOTE: Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

1) PEARL CITY (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) Up to three lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Kamehameha Highway Overpass and the Waiawa Road Overpass on Sunday night, Aug. 16, through Friday morning, Aug. 21, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly, for the rail project. The number of lanes closed will vary depending on the location of the roadwork. For more information, please visit the project website for The Rail at http://www.honolulutransit.org/.

2) PEARL CITY TO WAIPAHU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) Right lane closures on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 8B) from 8 p.m. Saturday night, Aug. 15, through 6 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 16, for deck widening. · Three right lanes closed from 8 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 15, through 10 a.m., Sunday morning, Aug. 16. · Two right lanes closed Sunday, Aug. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. · One right lane closed Sunday, Aug. 16, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, please visit the project website at www.pmcontraflow.com or call the project hotline at (808) 945-1144.

3) SALT LAKE TO HONOLULU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) Three left lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Keehi Interchange and the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Off-Ramp (Exit 15B) from 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, through 12:01 a.m. Monday morning, Aug. 17. All ramps will remain open. Speed limits will be reduced to 15 mph in order to minimize traffic induced vibrations that may lead to cracking in the newly repaired deck.  Airport Viaduct improvements include concrete deck replacements, expansion joint repairs, and pavement restriping. Work is located between the Pearl Harbor Interchange and the Keehi Interchange.

4) WAIPAHU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) Lane closure of the Farrington Highway On-Ramp to the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction on Sunday night, Aug. 16, through Friday morning, Aug. 21, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly, for the rail project. The State Department of Taxation (DoTAX) will brief members of the Senate Ways and Means Committee and the House Finance Committee on the status of the Tax System Modernization (TSM) Project intended to increase efficiency and reduce delays for individuals receiving tax refunds. FAST Enterprises, a software and consulting service company, has been selected to implement the TSM project. Participants at the briefing will include:
