HDOT West Oahu Lane Closures 2015: June 13 – June 19

For your planning purposes, listed below are weekly roadwork updates for HDOT projects that may affect traffic to and from the West Oahu region.  The list includes lane closures over the weekend and the upcoming week.  Please be advised of upcoming lane closures on Sunday nights through Friday mornings, June 21 – July 3, from 7 p,m. to 4 a.m., nightly. (See attached flyer.)

— H-1 FREEWAY —

1) MAKAKILO (WEEKEND)
Left lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Makakilo Drive Overpass and the Kalaeloa Boulevard Overpass on Saturday, June 13, from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m. for median maintenance.

2) PEARL CITY (NIGHT WORK)
Lane closures on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction at the Aiea Pedestrian Overpass between the Kaamilo Street Overpass and the Aiea/Kaneohe/Honolulu Off-Ramp (Exit 13A) on Monday, June 15, through Friday morning, June 19, from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly.
 
·        Three lanes will be closed from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
·        Four lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Construction will replace approximately 10,000 square feet of deteriorated pavement on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction. The concrete deck will be replaced by approximately 84 precast panels.  

3) PEARL CITY TO WAIPAHU
One to two lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the H-1/H-2 Split on Monday, June 15, through Friday, June 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for deck widening.

·        One right lane closed Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
·        Two right lanes closed Monday and Friday

4) AIEA (NIGHT WORK)
Two lane closures on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction at the Kaamilo Street Overpass on Monday night, June 15, through Friday morning, June 19, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly, for the rail project.

5) PEARL CITY (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Up to three lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in both directions between the Kamehameha Highway Overpass and the Waiawa Road Overpass on Saturday night, June 13, through Sunday morning, June 14, from 8 p.m. to 10 a.m. for the rail project.

The number of lanes closed will vary depending on the location of the roadwork.

6) PEARL CITY (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Up to three lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in both directions between the Kamehameha Highway Overpass and the Waiawa Road Overpass on Sunday night, June 14, through Friday morning, June 19, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly, for the rail project.

·        Three left eastbound lanes closed 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
·        Three right westbound lanes closed 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

7) SALT LAKE TO HONOLULU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Alternating two lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction from the Radford Drive Overpass to the Airport Off-Ramp (Exit 16) on Tuesday, June 16, through Thursday, June 18, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., for deck sealing work. All ramps will remain open.

8) SALT LAKE TO HONOLULU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Two right lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Keehi Interchange and the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Off-Ramp (Exit 15B) from 9 p.m. on Friday, June 12, through 12:01 a.m. Monday morning, June 15. All ramps will remain open.

Speed limits will be reduced to 15 mph in order to minimize traffic induced vibrations that may lead to cracking in the newly repaired deck.  Airport Viaduct improvements include concrete deck replacements, expansion joint repairs, and pavement restriping. Work is located between the Pearl Harbor Interchange and the Keehi Interchange.

9) WAIPAHU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Full closure of the Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 8B) from the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction for the rail project.

·        Saturday night, June 13, through Sunday morning, June 14, from 8 p.m. to 10 a.m.
·        Sunday night, June 14, through Friday morning, June 19, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

10) WAIPAHU
Shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Waikele/Waipahu On-Ramp (Exit 7) and the Kunia/Waipahu/Ewa Off-Ramp (Exit 5) on Monday, June 15, through Friday, June 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility installations.

— FARRINGTON HIGHWAY —

1) NANAKULI  
Right lane closure on Farrington Highway in the westbound direction between Nanakuli Avenue and Lualualei Naval Road on Wednesday, June 17, through Friday, June 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for utility repairs.

2) PEARL CITY (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Two lanes closed on Farrington Highway in the eastbound direction between the Kamehameha Highway Overpass and Waiawa Road on Saturday night, June 13, through Sunday morning, June 14, from 8 p.m. to 10 a.m. for the rail project.

3) PEARL CITY (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Full closure of the Farrington Highway eastbound on-ramp to the H-2 Freeway in the northbound direction for the rail project.

·        Full closure on Saturday night, June 13, through Sunday morning, June 14, from 8 p.m. to 10 a.m.
·        Full closure on Sunday night, June 14, through Friday morning, June 19, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly.

5) WAIPAHU (WEEKEND WORK)
Left lane closure on Farrington Highway in the westbound direction between Waiawa Road and Northbound Kamehameha Highway on Saturday, June 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for pavement marking installations.
