Legislative Alert – Employees Retirement System Bill (HB1370 HD1) Scheduled for Senate Hearing: Friday, March 20, 2015

The House companion to legislation introduced by Senator Shimabukuro has been scheduled for a hearing before the Senate Committee on Judiciary and Labor.

HB1370 HD1 provides statutory authority for the Employees’ Retirement System Administrator to make direct payment to a former spouse of a member of benefits or portion thereof pursuant to valid court judgment, order, or decree. Appropriates moneys to Employees’ Retirement System.

The deadline to submit testimony is Thursday, March 19, 2015, at 9:15 a.m.

Although late testimony can be submitted on the day of the hearing, testimony submitted less than 24 hours prior to the hearing may not be posted online or distributed to the committee prior to the convening of the public hearing. In-person testimony is also accepted for those present during the hearing. In both cases of late testimony, it is recommended that testifiers bring enough hard copy testimony for all committee members.
