Legislative Alert – Employees Retirement System Bill (SB1324) Scheduled for Senate Decision Hearing: Friday, February 27, 2015

Legislation introduced by Senator Shimabukuro has been scheduled for a decision hearing before the Senate Committee on Ways and Means.

SB1324 provides statutory authority for the employees’ retirement system administrator to make direct payment to a former spouse of a member of benefits or portion thereof pursuant to valid court judgment, order, or decree. Appropriates money to implement the purposes of this Act.

The deadline to submit testimony is Thursday, February 26, 2015, at 9:00 a.m.

Although late testimony may be submitted on the day of the hearing, any testimony submitted less than 24 hours prior should also be printed and sent to the WAM chair as a hard copy. In-person testimony will not be accepted at the public hearing.
