Subject: Farrington Hwy. Intersection Improvements: 12/08 Discussion Notes

Aloha Everyone,

Please find attached the DOT meeting notes from last Monday’s discussion of the Farrington Hwy. Intersection Improvements project. In it, we’ve included follow-up answers to the questions posed. As we move forward, if you have any project questions, please send them to me directly and I’ll serve as POC to get you answers from our various staff members and keep the entire group updated for continuity.

We’re also preparing the project e-blast with a roadwork update and a short briefing presentation (see attached). Can you please send me any e-mail addresses you’d like added to this mailing list? We’ll send one this week and others as new project developments arise.

After last week’s preparation work, construction will now continue behind the concrete barriers for the next 3 to 4 months and not require any lane closures. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns and thank you all again for your assistance and patience. We really appreciate your help. Mahalo!

November 20, 2014

Dear Hearts,

The “Truckers 4 Life” was founded by Milton Bradley Jr in 2009, who one day decided to gather his friends and family who were semi-truck drivers and started an initiative to benefit the less-fortunate children in the Waianae community during Christmas Season. He along with many other truck drivers and their families donated toys and formed a semi-truck cruise that started from Ke’ehi Lagoon to Waianae Boat Harbor. This year will be their 5th Annual “Truckers 4 Life” Semi-Truck Toy Run on Saturday, December 20, 2014 @11am at Waianae Boat Harbor.

Last year, they collected over 150 toys for the children as well as household necessities for their parents. A luncheon donation was also provided courtesy of members of New Hope Leeward Church. Many volunteers came out to support the initiative.

Our goal this year is to ask the community for their help in providing more additional gifts to accommodate our growing community. Our drivers and their families can only donate so many gifts and we would like to extend this initiative out to our community to gain more support and toy donations.

If you or anyone you know would like to help donate an unwrapped toy, please feel free to contact me at (808)548-8100 or email me at loushellmahoe@gmail.com. I am able to pick-up any donations from now until December 19, Friday.

Thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to hearing from you.
