Senator Shimabukuro’s “Wai’anae Coast Traffic Watch” Facebook Forum Policy

1. The purpose of this Facebook forum is to share information about conditions or events that impact or have the potential to impact traffic flow within as well as in and out of the Wai’anae Coast. Thus we welcome and encourage your active participation in serving as an early warning source for other motorists.

  • We expect conversations to follow the rules of polite discourse, and we ask that participants treat each other, as well as our staff, with respect.
  • For the benefit of healthy discussion, we ask that comments remain on topic. This means that comments should relate to the topic that is being discussed within that wall post.

2. This is a limited public forum. Posts from the public are moderated by our staff as time permits. However, please be aware that we cannot immediately review every comment. Opinions and information shared in posts that are not originated by the official account do not reflect our opinions and position. Therefore we cannot guarantee their accuracy. We reserve the right to delete comments, images, videos, or links that we deem to be:

  • False, inaccurate, libelous, illegal, self-promoting, or otherwise misleading.
  • Off topic, profane, obscene, inappropriate, disruptive.
  • Indecent, sexually explicit or pornographic – including masked profanity.
  • Threats; personal attacks; abusive, defamatory, derogatory, or inflammatory; harassment of any individual entity or organization.
  • Discriminatory or hateful regarding age, gender, race, religion, nationality, sexual orientation or disability.
  • Spam or links to virus malware, spyware, or similar programs that could harm a user’s computer.
  • Copyright or trade mark infringements.
  • Attempts to solicit funds or promote commercial entities.
  • Breaches of court-ordered suppression or have the potential to breach future suppression, including sub judice.
  • Identical posts by the same user or multiple users (a group of people sending identical messages or one person submitting under different aliases). In the case of identical posts, we will leave the first submission and delete the duplicates.
