Puu Heleakala InvitAloha!

We are inviting you to help us bring play to Oahu children by creating a new play space with Valley of Rainbows, Puu Heleakala Recreation Association, KaBOOM! and Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, on Saturday, June 7th!

The new playground will bring more than 1,200 kids in Oahu one step closer to having the childhood they deserve. Built in 1975, the current playground is old and outdated. After many years of heavy wear and tear it was in bad shape. By building the new play space, hundreds of families and children will have an opportunity to come together to enjoy and create quality experiences for years to come.

A playground is more than a playground. It’s a brain-expander, friend-maker and muscle builder. As a key KaBOOM sponsor, Disney supports the nonprofit’s vision to make play central to a child’s ability to grow into a productive adult. Children need a safe place to play every day in order to be active and healthy, something KaBOOM! has been committed to for 16 years. Since 1996, along with its partners, KaBOOM! has built, improved and opened more than 15,000 playgrounds, engaged more than one million volunteers, and served more than six million children. By the end of 2014, Disney and its Disney VoluntEARS will have helped KaBOOM! bring nearly 100 play spaces to communities across North America.

Building this new playground and learning garden—one of many made possible with support from Disney to inspire kids to lead healthier lifestyles—begins early in the morning. Volunteers arrive at an empty site and within hours, they transform the space into a vibrant neighborhood-gathering place. Together, we can give all kids the joyful childhood they deserve and help them grow into healthy and successful adults.

Come witness the transformation for yourself:
