§2-14-117 Order   and decorum. (a) All board members shall promote and preserve the order   and decorum of the board’s proceedings. (b) The presiding   officer of the board or a majority of the board may expel any individual   whose conduct at the board meeting is disruptive, disorderly, contemptuous,   or improper for the conduct of business at the board meeting. WAIANAE COAST ROTARY CLUB LAUNCHES 2014 “96792 PRIDE” CALENDAR

On 9/18/13, Sen. Shimabukuro attended the Waianae Coast Rotary Club’s (WCRC) launch of its popular “96792 Pride” calendar, which features winners of it’s annual photo contest.  Proceeds from the calendar benefit the club’s many public service and charitable causes.  The calendars are $5 each, and will be sold, among other places, at the Waianae Farmer’s Market, which takes place on Saturdays at Waianae Mall from 9am-1pm.  For more information, visit: http://www.waianaecoastrotary.org

Waianae Complex Student Services Coordinators Honored at Capitol

 On 9/20/13, Waianae Complex Student Services Coordinators (SSC) were honored at the Capitol as one of only four teams nominated for a “Team Excellence Award of Merit”.  Although Kaala Food Service ultimately won, we are very proud of the Waianae SSC’s for their hard work and being nominated!

The two videos below will give you an idea of what the E Ala Voyaging Canoe means to the people on the Wai’anae Coast. Culturally and educationally, it’s an invaluable heritage and symbol of Hawaiian pride. As Captain Sam “Kamu” Kapoi says, it has the power to inspire the young to want to stay in school and learn.

Please participate in the inaugural E Ala Voyaging Canoe golf tournament and dinner banquet on November 15, 2013, at Makaha Valley Country Club. This event will benefit the E Ala Voyaging Canoe Educational Fund. It starts at noon, followed by a Hawaiian dinner banquet at 5pm. If you can’t make it to the tournament, attend the banquet. Tickets are $40 per person.

The deadline to register for the Golf Tournament and Dinner Banquet is 11/1/13.

Organizers are also seeking sponsors, prizes, and other support.

Participate in the inaugural E Ala Voyaging Canoe golf tournament & dinner banquet on 11/15/13 at Makaha Valley Country Club.  The tournament starts at noon, followed by a Hawaiian dinner banquet at 5pm.  If you cannot make it to the tournament, you can attend the banquet (tickets are $40/person).

This event will benefit the E Ala Voyaging Canoe Educational Fund, and the deadline to register is 11/1/13.
