Waianae High School (WHS) seniors have one last wish before graduation. They hope to raise enough money for “Project Graduation,” which will enable them to spend a final night celebrating graduation with their fellow classmates.Coordinated by Waianae parents, students and the community, Project Graduation is an all-night, substance-free party held for the school’s new graduates. All graduating students are invited to participate in the event. Adult volunteers will chaperone the event.“It is urgent that we support this is post-graduation party, which is less than a month away,”said Sen. Maile Shimabukuro, who represents Kalaeloa, Honokai Hale, Ko Olina, Nanakuli, Maili, Waianae, Makaha and Makua.
“I encourage the community to support Waianae’s graduating seniors so that they can celebrate in a safe, adult-supervised environment.”Waianae Seniors hope to raise $10,000 for the event. Activities, entertainment, food and prizes are part of the fun-filled night.
