HSTA TELLS LEGISLATORS ABOUT THEIR PRIORITIES; PLANS RALLY 3/14 @ CAPITOL

HSTA came by today to see Maile and discuss:

Two bills that they oppose: SB 238    Amends the definition of “student instructional hours” for elementary and secondary schools. & SB 1084 SD1   Proposes a constitutional amendment to permit the appropriation of public funds for private early childhood education programs, as provided by law.

Two bills that they support: SB 573 SD2  Authorizes a state income tax credit for certain expenses paid or incurred by a school teacher during the taxable year, & HB 151 HD1, which sets a time frame within which the Hawaii Labor Relations Board shall resolve complaints.

HSTA visited Maile on 3/8/13.
