Congratulations to the Nanakuli Lady Hawks!

Congratulations to Nanakuli Golden Hawks head coach Ricky Gusman, his staff, players, and supporters for a remarkable season, winning the O‘ahu Interscholastic Association Division II championship for the first time in school history and finishing second in the Division II Data House/HHSAA Softball State Championships. The members of Coach Gusman’s staff are K. Beck, A. Dela Cruz, K. Kaeo, C. Koko, W. Meyers, L. Felise.

The players on the state tournament roster are Lauren Ku (OF/INF), Pearl Kealoha (OF), Kehau Silva (C), Cherisse Colins (OF/2B), KC Salgado-McKeague (2B/OF), Chyanne Koko (P/1B), Alexis Paulo-Meyers (SS/3B), Kelcie Gilman (3B/P/1B), Precious Paulo-Meyers (1B/3B/P), Shaina Souza (OF/2B), Katherine Lundergren-Aiwohi (1B), Anela Woods (OF/3B), Courtney Agcopra (OF).

Coach Gusman was also selected as the KSSK OIA Coach of the Week for April 30-May 5, 2012! “This win,” said Gusman, “brings great joy to the community, to the school… the pride comes back. This Nanakuli program is still young, a lot of young players on this squad and we’re going to be a force to be reckoned with in the next few years” (ScoringLive).

Senior catcher Kehaulani Silva was injured during the championship game but has since recovered. She will graduate this month and leave in August to attend Taft College in California, where she will play basketball. Photo from KHON2 video 5.8.12
