Testimony Needed for Ho’okulaiwi, Off-the-Grid/Indigenous Architecture, Witness Line-Up, & Family Abandonment Bills on 2/28/12

The Senate Ways & Means Committee (WAM) has scheduled a hearing on Tues., Feb 28, at 9 AM, in Rm 211 to hear the following bills:

SB 3071 Ho’okulaiwi (teacher training for Wai’anae Coast, Moloka’i & Hana)

SB 2304 Witness Line-Up (fairness in witness line-up procedures)

SB 2639 Off-the-Grid/Indigenous Architecture (affordable, sustainable, and culture-based DHHL housing)

SB 3008 Family Abandonment (affordable method to serve defendants who have abandoned their families in custody, paternity, TRO, & other family court cases)

All of these bills are scheduled for decision-making only, so no oral testimony will be allowed. However, written testimony in support is very important. Further, key supporters are encouraged to attend in case the WAM Committee has any questions.

Testimony should be sent to: WAMtestimony@capitol.hawaii.gov
