Landfill Community Give Back Bill to Be Heard Feb. 2; Chartered Bus Available for Wai`anae Coast Residents

SB 2302, a bill which creates a “Community Giveback” fee for solid waste violators, is being heard jointly by Sen. Will Espero’s Public Safety (PGM) and Sen. Mike Gabbard’s Energy and Environment (ENE) Committees this Thursday, Feb. 2, at 3:30 in Rm 224.  It is the last of 4 bills on the agenda.

A chartered bus is being sponsored by the Nanakuli High and Intermediate School Parent Teacher Student Association (NHIS-PTSA) for residents who would like to testify on SB 2302 on 2/2/12 at 3pm at the State Capitol.  The bus will be leaving the NHIS football stadium parking lot around 1:30 – 2:00 pm.  Anyone interested in riding the bus must email Kimo Kelii at  [Note: As of 2/1/12 at 2:45pm, there are 23 people signed up to ride the bus; capacity is 60 people.]
