Fair Housing Testing Coordinator
Date: Thursday, December 22, 2011The Legal Aid Society of Hawaii seeks a tester coordinator for its Fair Housing Enforcement Program. State and federal fair housing laws prohibit housing discrimination based on race, sex, religion, color, marital status, familial status, ancestry, disability, HIV, sexual orientation or gender identity, and age. Under the supervision of the Fair Housing Staff Attorney, the tester coordinator will recruit and train volunteer testers as well as coordinate housing tests to monitor fair housing compliance in the community. He/she will also be responsible for organizing fair housing educational sessions and distributing outreach materials.Minimum Requirements
a. Familiarity and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to type, use digital camera and various measuring tools .
b. Good public speaking skills and the ability to work with a wide range of people and groups.
c. Ready access to an automobile or other means of private transportation.
d. Knowledge of Fair Housing rules, regulations and laws is helpful but not required. Legal Aid is willing to train.We are looking for someone who can work independently, is detail-oriented and demonstrates initiative. College degree or some college classes preferred. Knowledge of statistics and experimental design is a plus.
