WAIANAE, HI – Previously homeless families living in Ulu Ke Kukui and Ohana Ola O Kahumana transitional homes will come together on Saturday, March 19th, 8:00am-4:00pm to hold a “Multi-Family Yard Sale” on the grounds of Ulu Ke Kukui transitional housing (Located at: 87-576 Kula’aupuni Street, Waianae, HI 96792).  The “cash-flow’ project, initiated by those families taking a financial literacy course through Hawaiian Communities Assets, is intended to help families build their financial assets as well as build their sense of community.

With a layout of 60 plots and setup similar to a swap meet, families will be selling everything from usual garage sale items to unique hand-made goods.  Besides the family set-up selling goods, Ulu Ke Kukui’s kitchen will be offering food such as hot dogs, pop corn, and shave ice.

This multi-family garage sale represents the coming together of community for the betterment of the community.  Please come and kokua a project that empowers people and encompasses what it means to “eat, live, support, and thrive local”.
